Kate Edmonds was born in Sydney, Australia of English parents, and was brought up in the U.K. Kate worked as an R.N., where incidentally she organized all of the events for the hospital. In 1983, she traveled to New York where she fell in love with the city and stayed.
She then began simultaneously working in special events for a large French cosmetics firm, producing after-show parties for Saturday Night Live and working with celebrities and the hot restaurant and nightclub scene of the 80’s. During this period, she had a moving nightclub called The Mickey Mouse Club and later The Boom Boom Room. |

Kate has done promotions for Town and Country Magazine, Brides Magazine, Gorham and Mikasa. She has designed tabletops and backdrops for fashion shoots, magazine, television and movie sets, as well as window displays at the D&D Building for F. Schumacher & Co.
Kate has been featured as an event designer on the first season of the hit show Bridezilla, called upon to give her expert advice and creative direction on a mini-series chronicling the wedding plans of hopeful brides. In addition, “The Apprentice” producers chose Ms. Edmonds as the expert advisor on Special Event Planning during their first season. Kate has been quoted in publications including InStyle Magazine, New York Magazine, Bride’s Magazine, BizBash Magazine, The New York Post, Hampton Style, Modern Bride, Quest, The Observer, Newsday, The British Mirror, and the New York Times Style Section. She is known in the industry as a planner with great taste who produces events that are custom tailored to provide clients with the most personalized attention to make the traditional truly exciting. |
